Carcassonne Storage Boxes

Prototype of Carcassonne storage boxHans im Glück is working on two different storage boxes for Carcassonne and Dominion, and they want you to help them decide which ones will go into production.

The prototype pictured at left is a lower-cost suitcase-style storage box shown with the Carcassonne tray above (the Dominion tray is sitting in the bottom of the box).

They're also working on a more expensive deluxe storage box with pull-out drawers; the prototype is configured for Dominion, but the Carcassonne version will supposedly have room for everything from regular Carcassonne plus two spin-offs. They've posted some Youtube videos explaining the details of each box. We've linked the English versions of the videos for your viewing pleasure:

If you want to let them know product(s) you'd prefer, take the survey and get your two cents in.

Six new mini-expansions on the way

Counter-top display for Carcassonne MinisIn January we got word of six new mini-expansions heading our way this Spring, which actually turned out to be seven. Each box will contain a Corn Circle tile. Collect all six mini-expansions and you'll also have the Corn Circles expansion. It gets even better; the Corn Circle tiles are completely different from the previous German release of Corn Circles, which brings the total number of Corn Circle tiles up to 12.

On a related note for those in North America, if you haven't picked up the German release of Corn Circles yet, Rio Grande Games will be releasing an English version in the next month or two in their compilation entitled "Corn Circles, Plague, and Tunnels" which also includes the Tunnels and Plague expansions that were released by Spielbox magazine in 2009 and 2010 respectively.

Click the button below for a complete rundown on these six new expansions, and then join us in the forums to share your thoughts on them.

Carcassonne: The Castle - Falcon Expansion

Falcon Expansion promo imageDespite originally being announced back in 2010, we still know very little about this often-delayed expansion for Carcassonne: The Castle. The only thing we have besides the image shown at left is the following brief description:

In Carcassonne: The Castle - Falcon, an expansion for the two-player game Carcassonne: The Castle, the Prince is growing and has taken up falconry, resulting in a large number of falcon nests in the castle. Also, religion has come to the castle, and there is now the possibility of building chapels in the castle.

Some sites were rumoring that this might be released in February 2012, but it's more likely that this will be released in March or April, assuming it's released in 2012 at all. Apparently this expansion was supposed to be released already back in 2009.
