Scott wrote me yesterday. He didn't heard anything from Gantry since two weeks ago.
mjharper: Now, there are holidays at the university. I haven't any chance to call him directly.
He has received emails from me on all email addresses that I have of him.

I have got answers from Scott and Gantry today: Scott wrote this to Gantry: I can't login to the forums so I can't put it into maintenance mode. Gantrys answer to Scott: The database will have to be restored from a previous one, I will work on this tomorrow evening. |

It looks like they only go back to January 11th, 2013. Maybe something happened already on Jan. 11 that deleted the posts prior to that.

Scott answers me - 05.02.2013 - 0:16: I suggested to him that he should set up new forums and make the old ones read only; the community can copy over anything important. I think at this point trying to fix the old forums is hopeless. Gantry emailed me back this morning that he plans to do this tonight.

What I personally know from Moritz Brunnhofer (HiG) is, that they prefer to have only one english speaking Forum - that is CarcassonneCentral.

Fewer communities is best; people ask the same questions and it becomes more work to share knowledge. I appreciate that Moritz agrees with this.
I emailed Gantry that we need the new forums quickly and he said they would be ready soon. I hope that soon means tonight or tomorrow. |
