Welcome to Carcassonne Central!
This site is a community dedicated to the board game we love called Carcassonne, to all its expansions, variants, and spin-off games. When you register an account, you are signing up as a member of a community, your community! The staff of Carcassonne Central (sometimes called Carc Central or even CC for short) are all volunteers, whose enjoyment of the Carcassonne series brings us together to share our enjoyment of the game. Your friendly admins, Gantry and Matt, are not absentee owners - we play the games, interact with the community, and share in the fun.
Matt, who runs the Carcassonne FAQ site, was contacted by myself (Gantry) who was starting up Carc Central in January 2007. Since both sites were being constructed simultaneously, we decided to collaborate and link the two sites together. As we open the doors in March 2007, we ask that you mind the wet paint and unstocked shelves, we have lots of work to do!
We invite you to make this your community, to participate by sharing your ideas, experiences and knowledge. We're not here to make a profit from this, which means that you won't see 100 similar reviews for the same game, indeed any contributions from you, our fellow members, are done for the enjoyment of the entire community. So browse our links, check out our downloads, and say hello!
Where to Go From Here
You'll notice that the Carcassonne FAQ site and Carcassonne Central are heavily linked together. You can get from the forums to the main CC page by clicking on the yellow "Carcassonne Central" title at the very top of the forums. From the main CC home page, you can get to the Carc FAQ site by clicking on the "FAQ" menu links. And of course, from both sites you can access the forums by clicking on "Forums". In the future, we'll be discussing ways to meld the sites together better.
You can update your profile within the forums by selecting Profile, Forum Profile Information. There, you can enter your personal details and what Carcassonne games you own. Also, there is some secret member-only information that appears only when you edit your profile information! Check it out!
Each forum has both a description and a pinned topic at the top explaining what that forum's purpose is. Feel free to ask plenty of questions, give us your constructive criticisms, offer us your help (!), and if you are interested in providing content (articles, your own variants, proofreading, etc) don't hesitate to contact us! Together we can make this site a one-stop resource for Carc fans!
